A woman was killed Saturday night after she was hit by a car in northern Harris County.

Just after 10 p.m., Larry Rogers was driving a silver Ford Escape along the 16300 block of Ella when he allegedly struck a pedestrian, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim – later identified as Jocelyn Roberson – was walking west to east across the road, outside of a crosswalk.

Deputies said she failed to yield right-of-way when the Ford crashed into her in the northbound lanes.

Paramedics arrived on scene and rushed Roberson to Houston Northwest Medical Center where she later died.

Rogers did not show any signs of intoxication and was not charged in the incident, though the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division is still investigating.
