A UH student reported a robbery outside student apartments on Cullen.
A University of Houston student was reportedly robbed at gunpoint overnight outside the Cullen Oaks Apartments, according to campus police.
Just before 3 a.m., UH police received an email notification to a non-emergency account, reporting a robbery an hour earlier near the visitors’ parking area for the student housing complex.
Police didn’t learn of the incident till they read the email around 8 a.m.
The student, who police did not identify, was getting out of her car around 1:55 a.m. when another car blocked her in.
An unidentified suspect brandishing a gun approached, demanding her cell phone and backpack.
Afterward, the suspect fled in an unknown direction, possibly in a tan car.
University of Houston Police Department is still investigating the incident.
