Austin police recently arrested a 35-year-old woman accused of abandoning her 2-year-old son under a busy overpass.

According to an arrest affidavit for 35-year-old mother Felix Marie Jimenez, police received a report of an infant sitting on a couch under the roadway.

When authorities arrived they witnessed the toddler running around and being chased by two homeless people. They told police the child’s mother asked them to watch the young boy while she went to the store.
