A teenager accused of killing his parents, former Texas A&M University football star Antonio Armstrong and his wife, last year is expected in court Monday.

Antonio Armstrong, Jr., is charged with capital murder, accused of fatally shooting his parents inside their southwest Houston townhome in July.

Last month, a juvenile court judge certified Armstrong, who was 16 when the crime occurred, to stand trial as an adult.

Attorney Rick Detoto said he hopes state District Judge Kelli Johnson sets bail for the teen during his arraignment Monday. He said he will ask for a bond hearing if Armstrong is held without bail.

The teen was arrested when his story about a gun-wielding burglar didn’t match the evidence, prosecutors have said.
