Police are searching for a suspect who apparently stole jewelry from a store inside West Oaks Mall and is possibly linked to other burglaries within the Houston area, according to a news release from Houston Crime Stoppers

The man allegedly  took items on June 24 shortly after 1 a.m. from Sears at West Oaks Mall. He is seen on video surveillance walking up to the front door and breaking in using a small hatchet type tool.

He used the same tool to break the glass jewelry counters and steal several expensive pieces from Sears. He then fled the location and has not been seen since by police.

The suspect is also possibly linked to other burglaries within the Houston area, including one at Macy’s in the Galleria.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, black long sleeve shirt, black pants and black shoes.

Houston Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the charging or arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call 713-222-TIPS or submit a tip online at crime-stoppers.org.
