The eastbound lanes of North Loop 610 are mostly shut down and the North Freeway exit is blocked entirely Thursday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle about 9 a.m., according to Houston police.

The gridlock as of 10 a.m. stretches for miles back to the Katy Freeway, according to Houston TranStar.

Police got a report about 9:15 a.m. of a man injured by a vehicle, said Houston Police Department spokeswoman Jodi Silva.

The man was alive and conscious when first responders arrived, Silva added. His current condition is unknown.
