A July 11, 2017 hazmat spill on 1-45 at F.M. Road 1960 is blocking several lanes on the highway.

Traffic on the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 in Spring is being disrupted by a hazmat spill.

Houston TranStar cameras on the North Freeway near F.M. Road 1960 show police blocking off lanes. The spill was reported around 2 p.m.

It’s unclear what caused the spill or if there were any injuries.

Transtar did not have any further information about the spill. Texas Department of Transportation spokesman Danny Perez said that the spill occurred from one heavy truck. Perez said three lanes are closed down and traffic is flowing through two lanes.

Perez said he expects the cleanup to be complete by around 4 p.m.
