Fort Hood will soon after another general on post.

Col. Robert F. Whittle, Jr., a deputy commander of the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, is scheduled to be promoted to brigadier general on Friday, Army officials announced.

Whittle is currently assigned as the First Cavalry Division’s deputy commander for home station – one of three deputy commander positions in the division. Although normally a one star general’s slot, Whittle has been filling the position as a colonel.

A member of the Army Corps of Engineers, Whittle is a 1990 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
