Former President George H.W. Bush had “a good night’s rest” and “continues to gain strength” following his recovery from a mild case of pneumonia, a family spokesman said Wednesday.
Bush, 92, remains under observation, spokesman Jim McGrath said in a daily update. He is looking forward to going home, but won’t be discharged Wednesday.
McGrath reported Tuesday that Bush’s case has been “treated and resolved.”
Bush was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital on Friday due to a persistent cough. It was subsequently diagnosed as mild pneumonia.

Bush was hospitalized in January with pneumonia as well. On that occasion, he spent two weeks at Methodist, including time on a ventilator and breathing tube in the intensive care unit.
