Florida-based GEO Group, a multibillion-dollar, for-profit prison company, is planning to build an immigrant detention center north of Houston, as President Trump ramps up efforts to expand the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s deportation program. GEO Group (NYSE: GEO) won a contract with ICE to build the 1,000-bed, $110 million facility in Conroe, according to a company release.
