Flood advisory issued for central Harris County

A flood advisory has been issued for central Harris County until 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service

Flood advisories are also in place for parts of Galveston County, Fort Bend County and Brazoria County, the weather service reported. 

Some areas expected to see flooding are Hunters Creek Village, Pearland, Sugar Land, Missouri City, West University Place, South Houston, Jersey Village and other areas. 


There have also been several high water locations reported across the city including on I-45 North Freeway and on the 610 East Loop. 

A 50 percent chance of thunderstorms is predicted both Saturday and Sunday. The temperatures will peak in the lower 90s both days and fall to the mid-70s overnight.

The heat index for Saturday is expected to reach 102 degrees.
