An alleged drunk driver Saturday night plowed into a family of six near North Freeway, leaving three children seriously injured, according to police.

Kevin Rivera was driving a green Ford Mustang northbound along the service road when he ran a red light at West Parker around 9 p.m., according to Houston police.

The 49-year-old allegedly crashed into a family of six traveling in a red Nissan Rogue, which spun around and hit a traffic pole. Debris from the wreck hit two other vehicles.

The mother, father and all four kids in the Nissan were taken to Memorial Hermann.

Two boys – ages 8 and 11 – were seriously injured along with their 18-month-old sister.

Rivera was taken to an area hospital and tested for possible intoxication and will now be charged with three counts of intoxication assault.
