Dallas-area teacher charged with secretly filming female students appears in front of grand jury

A North Texas high school science teacher accused of filming students while they undressed recently appeared in front of a grand jury, according to the Carrollton Police Department.

George Edwin Thomas III, 54, was arrested in March and charged with six counts of invasive visual recording.

Police said that Thomas’ girlfriend discovered a thumb-drive containing “multiple video recordings of teenage girls disrobing in a closet.”

Police documents show that Thomas admitted to recording videos in class, but claimed “the recordings were of activities for the students to watch and learn.”

Thomas taught five different courses at R.L. Turner High School, including Pre-AP Biology and Biology I.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: Teacher accused of having sex with 18-year-old student

According to The Dallas Morning News, Thomas is now under house arrest with a GPS monitor after posting bail for $90,000.
