The European Commission has approved the massive merger of The Dow Chemical Co. (NYSE: DOW) and DuPont (NYSE: DD), the companies said March 27. An executive with Michigan-based Dow recently told the Houston Business Journal this approval was expected before the end of March, and approvals in the U.S., China and Brazil likely would follow shortly thereafter.
