The 7-year-old boy fatally struck by a car Tuesday evening was playing with his skateboard at a west Houston apartment complex, police said.
The woman who hit the boy, a mother driving with three small children, did not see the boy because he was lying down on the skateboard, police said. She was not intoxicated.
Houston police said the boy was taken from the apartment complex in the 2300 block of Hayes in the Briarforest area to a hospital, where he later died.
Authorities did not expect to seek charges in the case.
