A huge sign that hangs above a Montrose smoke shop came crashing to the ground Saturday afternoon, damaging several parked vehicles but causing no injuries.

KPRC-TV reported that the sign for the Cloud Nine Smoke Shop in the 1400 block of Westheimer near Dunlavy came down around 4 p.m.

Customers had left shortly before the sign and awning, apparently too heavy for the roof, crashed. The owner was trying to figure out Saturday how to remove the downed sign and debris from the front of the shop.
