One Willowood apartment unit is damaged after a fire started by fireworks broke out on Sunday afternoon, according to the Harris County Fire Marshal’s office.

Investigators responded to the two-alarm fire at 2:30 p.m. on the 7600 block of Fallbrook. The fire was ruled accidental, according to the agency.

One unit was damaged by the fire, and the leasing office was damaged by water from the response. No one was injured.

“We encourage the public to use fireworks responsibly by following the manufacturer’s directions and never using fireworks near buildings or vehicles,” said spokeswoman Rachel Moreno in a statement.

The Harris County Fire Marshal’s office said there were 30 fires caused by fireworks in 2015. July is the peak month for fireworks fires, that agency said.
