A 7-year-old boy was killed in a fatal crash early Friday morning after his mother traveling southbound in the 400 block of Maxey Road loss control of her vehicle, causing it to flip onto the passenger side.

The victim, Jody Rodriguez, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Rodriguez’s siblings, ages 4 and 6, and his mother were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to the Houston Police Department, the 29-year-old female driver was traveling in a white Nissan Rogue when she failed to stay within a single lane.

Her vehicle then went into a grassy area, struck a speed limit sign and a light pole.

The vehicle then went airborne and landed on its driver side in a business parking lot.

There is no arrest or charge filed at this time as the investigation is continuing.

If you would like donate to memorial fund for Rodriguez, the family has set up a GoFundMe page here.
