Police in Euless, Texas are investigating the theft of 39 handguns stolen from a gun store that neighbors that city’s police department.

Euless Guns and Ammo at 1200 West Euless Boulevard was broken into Saturday morning. Surveillance footage captured five robbers rush in and out of the store. The group pulled up, exited a Ford F250 pickup truck and proceeded to tear off metal bars before rushing in and taking several firearms.

Federal agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are assisting officers with searching for the robbers. The police department has not yet released the surveillance footage.

Euless Police Department spokesman Sgt. Scott Peterson said due to the bold act and sizable theft, he believes these are not petty thieves.

“Any crime can happen anywhere at any time,” Peterson told NBC-DFW. “I mean, we’re talking literally couple hundred feet from the front door of the police department, but again the officers middle of the night aren’t stationed here at the police department.”
