A four-hour SWAT standoff in southeast Harris County ended in two arrests early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The chaos started around 2:30 a.m. when Harris County Precinct 2 deputies responded to a disturbance call near Beamer and Kirkridge. When they arrived, they found a woman who said she’d been assaulted by a man who was holding another woman hostage in an upstairs apartment.

When the man refused to answer, deputies pulled back and called in the county’s High Risk Operations Unit, who swarmed the scene with trucks and robots.

The holed-up suspect still wouldn’t respond to authorities, so HROU stormed the house and arrested the man and his brother. The woman was not hurt.

Shaky footage of the scene that later surfaced online showed deputies rushing the apartment and setting off an explosive just before taking the men into custody.

It’s unclear whether the brothers were armed and authorities did not immediately indicate what charges they’ll be facing.
