One man is dead after an overnight shooting police say could be gang-related.
Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a call for shots fired at the Houston West Lake Apartments in the southwest part of the city.
Upon arrival, officers found a man who’d been shot once after some sort of dispute. Witnesses said they’d seen two suspects fleeing the scene on foot.

“We’re not sure what the altercation was about,” Todd Colbert of the Houston Police Department told reporters at the scene. “There’s a possibility that it could be gang-related.”
Authorities did not immediately release the victim’s name or age, but Colbert said that the man lived at the complex and had just returned from a trip out of town.
